Whole Root Healing LLC is dedicated to serving the community. Our vision is to create a ranch-style wellness center that supports individuals, families, and communities in achieving holistic health.

The Plans

"Our mission is to make wellness accessible and affordable for all by embracing the South African philosophy of Ubuntu. At our wellness ranch, we foster a supportive community, based on healthy relationships with oneself and others, providing a safe and inclusive environment where every individual is valued."

Wellness Center for the mind, body and soul. Catering to each individuals personalized needs and care. The wellness ranch will provide an integrative, client centered and holistic approach to whole being.

Ensuring there are trained professionals from diverse backgrounds with trauma informed care, evidence based practices and a passion for nurturing balance, compassion and growth. Focusing on an individuals whole self, physical, emotional, environmental, social, and spiritual conditions as well as lifestyle factors, will be key in identifying the best approaches for their wellness and healing journey.

Programs: Individual therapy, couples, therapy, family therapy, group therapy, yoga, meditation/prayer rooms, hydroponic gardening, plant-based kitchen, allergen considerate environment, outdoor therapy, equestrian therapy, and more...

The sole purpose of the wellness community is to provide a safe environment for individuals, families and communities, to thrive and be their most authentic and healthy self. This sacred space provides education, exploration, healthy practices, to encourage awareness, understanding and improving the whole self.

Through an individualized care plan approach, that encourages self love, freedom and growth. Supporting individuals health through unique plans created with the individual and a team of professionals, for preventative care and to support Whole Health.

The Pilot Program

Our goal this year is to obtain land and secure partnerships for our pilot program. This pilot program will provide at least 2-4 tiny homes for veterans, a community space for holistic services and interventions and operate a sustainable hydroponic greenhouse.

This pilot program, will exemplify the ultimate vision, Whole Root Healing Wellness Ranch for all people to have a safe haven and place to heal and grow mentally, spiritually, emotionally, financially and spiritually.

Lets take mental health to the next level and provide Whole Health Services and Systems!

Secured LLC – Established Whole Root Healing LLC as a registered business entity.
Opened Business Account – Set up financial infrastructure to support business operations.
Researched Grants – Identified potential funding opportunities. (Click here to go to resources)
Secured Ambassador Program with Gardyn – Partnered with Gardyn to promote sustainable wellness solutions for myself, my family, my clients, and the broader vision.
Legal Counsel Confirmed – Verified that legal counsel could facilitate the acquisition of 0.53 acres in South Bend, IN, requiring a $2,000 retainer fee to proceed.
2nd Quarter Goal
- Secure $2,000 to pay legal counsel and advance the land acquisition process.
- Have a fund specifically for raising money for the pilot program and ultimately the initial full functioning wellness ranch.

The Vision

Our Journey to a Holistic Wellness Ranch

Whole Root Healing LLC was born from a deeply personal vision.

While in college, Kenisha Henderson envisioned a holistic wellness center in honor of her grandmother, Berniece Davis. This center was designed to serve the West Side of Chicago, a community impacted by food deserts and limited access to wellness services.

The vision included mental health support, yoga, massage therapy, healthy food options, and a range of holistic interventions aimed at fostering overall well-being.

Kenisha first captured this dream in a college essay, where her professor responded with encouragement: "I can't wait to come work for your center!" To this day, they remain in contact—an ongoing reminder of the power and impact of the vision.

From Vision to Action

In 2010, Kenisha took the first step toward her dream by self-funding, a community garden, in Chicago’s Lawndale Community. Along with the generous support of her brother, who provided the space and labor. This garden caters to young children, teens, young adults and the seasoned individuals of the community. Today, this garden continues to thrive, maintained by the dedicated residents of Lawndale.

With over 13 years of experience in social work, massage therapy, and talk therapy, Kenisha has worked with thousands of individuals. Through this journey, she identified key components of a healthy life:

Intentional Consumption – Nourishing all five senses with positive, healthy habits.
Emotional, Mental & Physical Well-Being – Practicing self-care, setting boundaries, and fostering movement.
Strong, Healthy Relationships & Community – Grounded in values, morals, and mutual support.
Stress & Pressure Management – Utilizing self-care, coping strategies, and conflict resolution.
Acts of Kindness & Service – Giving to others selflessly and fostering a spirit of generosity.
Personal Growth & Purpose – Developing resilience, gratitude, and a strong sense of identity.

The Vision for Whole Root Healing Ranch

Whole Root Healing seeks to create a sustainable wellness ranch, integrating Kenisha’s experiences, education, and resources while bringing together a diverse network of holistic providers—both traditional and non-traditional. The goal is to cultivate a healing space that welcomes individuals and families in search of restoration, community, and peace.

This ranch will be a place where holistic health, sustainability, and community care come together, offering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all who seek healing.
